Thai Basil Coconut Rice made with Summa Salts Thai Basil Salt

This creamy, fragrant Thai Basil Coconut Rice comes together in just a few steps—and gets a major flavor upgrade from our handcrafted Thai Basil Salt. Whether you're pairing it with grilled chicken, veggies, or a quick curry, this dish is a surefire crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jasmine rice, rinsed
  • 1 cup coconut milk (full fat)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 1 tsp Summa Salts Thai Basil Salt (or more to taste)
  • Optional: chopped scallions, toasted sesame seeds, or fresh Thai basil for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, coconut milk, water, and butter/oil. Bring to a low boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is fluffy.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
  4. Sprinkle in Thai Basil Salt and stir to combine. Taste and add more if desired.
  5. Serve warm with your favorite protein or vegetables. Garnish if you’re feeling fancy.
