How to Rim a Cocktail Glass (And Which Cocktail Salt Goes With Which Drink)
The rim is the first thing you taste. A good cocktail salt doesn't just look pretty on the glass. It wakes up the citrus, balances the sweet, and makes a drink at home taste like you ordered it somewhere nice.
Every one of our cocktail salts comes in a 5 oz reusable rimmer. No plate, no mess: you dip the glass straight in. Here's how to use it, and which salt to grab for which drink.
How to Rim a Glass
- Wet the rim. Run a lime or lemon wedge around the edge of the glass. (Making a mocktail or a coffee drink? A little simple syrup or water works too.)
- Dip and twist. Turn the glass upside down, press it into the rimmer, and give it a twist.
- Tap off the extra. A light tap keeps salt on the glass and out of the drink.
- Pour and enjoy.
Tip: only rim half the glass. That way every sip is your choice, salt or no salt.

Sea salt and a mix of dried peppers: no citrus, no sugar. It's a mellow heat that gives you a warm tingle on the lips. Made for margaritas and mezcal, and just as good on palomas, micheladas, and fresh watermelon or mango.
