We made this recipe while getting ready for a local TV segment all about salty beach snacks, and honestly… it disappeared fast. ☀️🥨🌴
Whether you’re packing for the beach, heading out on a road trip, or just want a better snack for summer afternoons, this trail mix is ridiculously easy to throw together.
Salty Beach Trail Mix
Ingredients
- 1 cup mini pretzels
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 1 cup “dried fruits”
(freeze dried apples, bananas, and coconut combined) - 1 tbsp coconut oil or ghee
- 1 to 1½ tsp Summa Salts Elderberry Basil Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Toss pretzels, almonds, and walnuts with melted coconut oil or ghee.
- Sprinkle on Elderberry Basil Salt and mix thoroughly.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Cool slightly, then mix in the dried fruits.
The Elderberry Basil Salt adds a sweet-savory flavor that makes this taste way more interesting than regular trail mix. The herbal basil pairs perfectly with the apples and coconut, while the salt balances everything out with that classic salty snack energy.
It’s the kind of snack that somehow tastes both healthy and like something you’d demolish sitting under a beach umbrella after swimming for three hours.
